Gay Celebrity Boyfriends: 2015 Edition
Once upon a time, gay celebrities were forced to retain their marketability by staying in the closet.
Lucky for them, those days are largely past. Lucky for us, we can live vicariously through their relationships. To that end we bring you this updated compendium of gay celebrity boyfriends!
This list doesn’t include couples who haven’t been confirmed by one or both of the participants. Sure, you might know who Jussie Smollett is dating, but if he hasn’t made that information public, we’re going to respect their privacy.
Now please sit back, relax, and enjoy a mind-bogglingly comprehensive journey through the wide, wonderful world of gay celebrity boyfriends!

Miles McMillan, 24, is no stranger to the spotlight. One of the top 50 models on Models.com, he has worked for talents as far and wide as Alexander McQueen, Yohji Yamamoto, and Karl Lagerfeld. He’s also appeared on the covers of Fiasco Magazine and Sportswear International.
Although this suave young man has been dating Star Trek star Zachary Quinto for around two years, the actor confirmed it on his Instagram just about six months ago with this sultry shot.
In a recent interview, Quinto stated that “There is a lot of comfort and real connection with him.” On the topic of marriage? “Miles and I talk about it, but we’re taking things one step at a time. I’m ambivalent about marriage.” The couple currently lives together with their cat (Harold) and two dogs (Noah and Skunk) in an unspeakably gorgeous Manhattan loft.
Michael Turchin (Husband of Lance Bass)
Pop art painter Michael Turchin, 28, began dating former NSYNC member Lance Bass in 2011. Michael is one of the most buzzed-about celebrity boyfriends on this list thanks to his high profile wedding, which was broadcast on E! on February 5th as Lance Loves Michael: The Lance Bass Wedding. In fact, he and Lance were the first gay couple to ever exchange vows on cable television.

Not only is he remarkably accommodating of his new husband’s fame (I guess you could say he’s all about the Bass), he’s also a firm supporter of #ToplessTuesday. And I mean firm.
The couple currently lives in Los Angeles with their three dogs, though they have discussed having children in the future. Bass is Southern Baptist and Turchin is Jewish, but according to a Huffington Post interview, they’ve come to a compromise.
“I’m definitely going to teach them and show them their Jewish past, just so they have the understanding, but I’m not going to force them to believe anything or to adhere to any specific religious laws or anything like that. I think there’s more harm in that than good,” said Turchin.
Here’s one more sizzling Turchin moment for the road!
David Burtka (Husband of Neil Patrick Harris)
Photo credit: Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images
These days, Burtka, 39, is rather well known for being the “better half” of Neil Patrick Harris, 41, but he’s actually a very accomplished stage actor in his own right whose credits include the New York premiere of Beautiful Thing (1999), Edward Albee’s The Play About the Baby (2001),Gypsy (with Bernadette Peters, 2003), and The Opposite of Sex (2004). Burtka is also the father of twins from a prior same-sex relationship.

The two met on the street through a mutual friend in 2004 and began dating a short time later.Said Burtka, “The biggest thing is that he makes me laugh, but he’s also smart. He can do everything. I’m not kidding; I think he’s half robot. He makes me a little more grounded, and I bring out the wild side in him.”
Still going strong over a decade later, the couple now has two children, twins Gideon and Harper, born through a surrogate mother. They were married in Italy in September 2014 and currently reside in a Harlem townhouse with their kids.
Halloween 2014
Aside from being a husband, actor, and star of the best series of Halloween costume ensembles known to humankind, Burtka is also a professional chef. He graduated from the Pasadena Cordon Bleu in 2009 and now runs a Los Angeles catering company called Gourmet M.D., which he started with classmate Molly Hanisee. Here’s a closing statement from Burtka in a 2012 interview: “I don’t want people to think we’re a perfect couple. Nothing’s perfect. A relationship is work and it changes. And you go with the changes. It’s more good times than bad times, but it’s not always good. You have to overcome those issues and move on. We have a really great recipe for a wonderful relationship, but we don’t want to be the poster boys for gay relationships. We’re not trying to pretend that we are perfect. We’re just trying – in a good, positive, loving way – to live our lives.”
Dustin Lance Black (Boyfriend of Tom Daley)

Of all the people on this list, Dustin Lance Black, 40, is probably the one boyfriend most equal to his partner in star power. Lance Black, who is notable for writing the screenplay for Milk (for which he won an Oscar), grew up in a Mormon household and found the story of Harvey Milk to be an inspiration during his coming out process. He began dating Olympic diver Tom Daley, 20, in 2013. The two met at a party, where Tom typed “Call Me” and his number into Lance Black’s phone notes. They began texting the next day and the rest is history. Their pairing was made public knowledge following Daley’s inspirational coming out video on December 2nd, 2013. “It really was love at first sight, I’d never felt like anything like it before.” said Daley, adding, “He makes me feel safe and happy, right now I couldn’t be happier.”
Dustin has given Daley more than just the courage to come out. “He saved me from not wanting to dive any more,” said Tom. “After the Olympics I was down in the dumps, as it’s such a hard way to get back into everything, but he gave me the extra motivation and made me work harder and that is exactly what I need.” And Tom’s not the only one who can be effusive about their relationship. In a 2014 interview, Lance Black said “He’s the best. I’m very proud. Everything Tom has said about being in love I feel and echo probably more. I’m very happy.” While Tom prepares for the Olympics in Rio, Dustin is working on a script for a TV series based on the life of Charles Lindbergh. The couple currently lives together in London, where they can wear matching jackets to their hearts’ content.

Don Roos (Husband of Dan Bucatinsky)

Terry Miller (Husband of Dan Savage)
Dan Savage, 50, has spent the last decade and change writing about the intimate details of his relationship with his boyfriend Terry Miller in his popular sex advice column Savage Love, and in memoirs such as The Kid, which chronicles the story of their open adoption, andThe Commitment: Love, Sex, Marriage, and My Family, which documents their decision to get married.
As a result, we know a lot more about Miller, a stay-at-home dad, than we do about many of these other celebrity boyfriends. In fact, given Savage’s penchant for writing about his own sex life in his column, there’s not a lot we don’t know about Terry. But for all the words devoted to Terry, the one thing most people don’t know is what he looks like, a situation remedied here…

The two were legally married in Seattle in December 2012. They were one of 11 couples to receive the first gay marriage licenses in Washington.
Richard Buckley (Husband of Tom Ford)
Buckley, 66, the former editor of Vogue Hommes International, has dealt with plenty during his long-term relationship with designer Tom Ford, 53, not the least of which was his throat cancer in the 1990s. Their most recent challenge was Ford’s desire to have children, which put him at odds with his partner of 20+ years.
“I’m going to have a kid in 2008,” Ford told Fantastic Man in an interview. “Richard knows I’ve wanted this for a long time. He’s just resisted it. He would be a spectacular father. It’s going to give his life new meaning.”

Ford may have jumped the gun a little bit in that statement, but the couple did eventually have a son, Alexander John Buckley Ford, in September 2012. The family currently lives together in Italy.
Hugo Redwood (Husband of Denis O’Hare)
O’Hare & Redwood (right) on Christmas Eve 2014
Interior designer Hugo Redwood, the longtime partner of American Horror Story’s Denis O’Hare, is a multi-skilled craftsman, having worked as a cabinetmaker, fashion designer, and DKNY pattern maker. It’s a good thing, too, because living with an actor can mean a lot of lonely nights.
“When we were first together, Denis was mostly on Broadway, and I called myself a theater widow because I’d never see him during the week,” says Redwood. “We’d write each other notes in the morning and night. We’d have Monday date night. Then he started doing more TV and movies. If we actually spend seven months in the same city together, that’s a long time. But it’s also a weird sort of benefit to our relationship that we’re not always on top of each other.”
An avid traveller and art collector, Redwood currently lives with his husband and their three-year-old adopted son, Declan, in Brooklyn.
Simon Halls (Husband of Matt Bomer)

Although Magic Mike star Matt Bomer, 37, publicly came out in 2012, he has been married to publicist Simon Halls, 51, since 2011. They currently have three sons: six-year-old twins and an eight-year-old. He first mentioned his family in his acceptance speech for the Steve Chase Foundation’s New Generation Arts and Activism Award in Palm Springs, saying, “Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment.”

Halls is the co-founder of Huvane Baum Halls, which merged with PMK in 2001. He and Cindi Berger are now co-CEOs of PMK/HBH. Among his many credits is a “special thanks” nod onHostel: Part II for some unfathomable reason.
Jason Landau (Husband of Cheyenne Jackson)

Not all happy relationships start off in a happy place. Actor Jason Landau, 37, met actor/singerCheyenne Jackson, 39, while they were both in rehab for alcohol addiction. “We got sober together,” says Jackson, “Now we sing and we dance together. It blows my mind.” Their whirlwind romance culminated in an engagement just six months after Jackson’s divorce with physicist Monte Lapka. The two men were married in September 2014 and are happily (and handsomely) living their lives together. Cheyenne Jackson told TheBacklot, “We just found each other at a time in life where it just…I can’t even really put it into words. It just is. Sometimes things just are and he’s an amazing person. I’m so happy I know him.” Valentine’s Day 2015
Jörn Weisbrodt (Husband of Rufus Wainwright)
In early December, 2010, singer Rufus Wainwright married German arts administrator Jörn Weisbrodt, currently the Artistic Director of Toronto’s Luminato Festival.
“I think it’s important to legalize our relationship, because, otherwise, he always feels a little ‘lesser-than,’ you know?” Wainwright told Vanity Fair. “It’s hard when you’re a celebrity and your significant other isn’t. So it’s nice, with the legal situation. It’s our equal ground. …I proposed over an Indian meal. I was very nonchalant, like, ‘Maybe we should get married. Will you marry me?’ The next day I played the Royal Albert Hall in London and announced it on stage. He was there with me. We went, that day, to Tiffany, on Sloan Square. … And Jörn and I bought these rings for each other.”
The couple legally married in Montauk, New York in 2012. Weisbrodt has a daughter, Viva, with Leonard Cohen’s daughter Lorca, with whom he and Wainwright share parenting responsibilities.

Jamison Hebert (Husband of Alec Mapa)
Ugly Betty star Alec Mapa, now recurring on Switched at Birth, legally married Hebert in 2008, and they adopted a five-year-old son together in 2011. “My husband’s white, my son’s black, I’m Asian!” he told the ladies of The View.

Thomas Dozol (Partner of Michael Stipe)
Does it seem like a lot of gay celebrity boyfriends are photographers? To all the others, add one more: Dozol, the partner of R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe. A collection of his photographs can be found at his web site.

Also like many other gay celebrity couples, Stipe and Dozol, a native of Martinique, live in New York, in an apartment in Tribeca, surrounded by lots of photographs and quirky art.
Justin Mikita (Husband of Jesse Tyler Ferguson)
Justin Mikita, 29, married Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson, 39, in New York City on July 20th, 2013. Their wedding was officiated by Lincoln screenwriter Tony Kushner. Ferguson toldUs Magazine that “I met my husband at the gym, but we always tell people it was through some mutual friends.”

Mikita, aside from having the eyebrows of a Greek god, is also a man of many talents. He’s a writer, a creative director, an activist, a bow tie/bedsheet designer, and – much like his husband’s sitcom character – a lawyer.
He was heavily involved in getting California’s Prop 8 to the Supreme Court, and he’s the director of the Thread Experiment as well as co-founder of Tie the Knot, a tie company he started with his husband “to advocate for the civil rights of gay and lesbian Americans throughout the United States & beyond, and to look damn good while doing it.”
Lance LePere (Husband of Michael Kors)

Fashion designer Michael Kors, 55, met Lance LePere, 43, in 1990 when he started work for him as an intern. After dating for 20 years, they married in Southampton, New York on August 16, 2011. “To marry someone as wonderful and special to me as Lance barefoot on a glorious beach is more than I could have dreamed of,” said Kors.
LePere is currently the creative director of women’s collection design for his husband’s company. If there’s a lesson to be learned from this, it’s that your freshman year professors were right: nab that internship while you still can.
Christopher Mason (Husband of Paris Barclay)
A few years back, Mason and his husband, celebrated TV producer-director Paris Barclay, decided to come home a day early from their month-long stay in Boston. Incredibly, their previously scheduled flight turned out to be none other than one of the planes that flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11. “After that, Paris and I came to the conclusion that we needed to make a difference in the world,” Mason recently told The Advocate. “For us it came to adopting some kids.”
The couple now has two sons they adopted from the Los Angeles foster care system. Barclay and Mason, who works as an executive in the food industry, married in 2008 after 10 years together.

Jeremy Glazer (Partner of Chad Allen)

Jeremy Glazer and boyfriend Chad Allen don’t just share a life together; they also appeared on-screen together in the 2007 movie, Save Me. Also a professional actor, Glazer has done a great deal of commercial work and appeared in the movies Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) andMoonlight Serenade (2006) as well as landing small parts on TV including on Veronica Mars, ER, and 7th Heaven.

A native of Long Island, Glazer attended the University of Delaware before heading to Hollywood where he worked as a production assistant before finally deciding to pursue acting. He and Allen have been a couple for ten years and Allen speaks glowingly of their relationship, but the two currently have no plans to get married.

Scott Gill (Partner of John Barrowman)
Opposites attract in the case of Torchwood star John Barrowman and Gill, his partner of over 20 years; Barrowman is famously outspoken and cheeky, but Gill, a British architect, is considerably more shy.
Gill and Barrowman, who have homes in London and Wales, have been a couple for fifteen years after having first met in 1993 when Barrowman performed in Rope. In an interview withOut Magazine, Gill said that when he saw Barrowman in the play, he thought, “That’s the guy I’d like to have a relationship with.” The play’s seven-minute nude scene involving Barrowman and two other male actors may have had something to do with Gill’s thinking.
In typical fashion, Barrowman says Gill has “a body like an Armani model” and, well, an impressive donkey-like attribute. The two were joined in a civil partnership in December of 2006 and gay fans were delighted during London Pride in 2007 when Barrowman pulled Gill on to the stage for a kiss.
The couple was legally married in California in 2013, following the Supreme Court’s decision on Hollingsworth v. Perry.

Anderson Cooper might as well be gay royalty what with all the name recognition he carries with him, but his boyfriend of five years, gay club owner Benjamin Maisani, mostly stays out of the limelight. He prefers it that way, saying that “Like most people, I never really thought about it and I never wanted to be a celebrity. I knew I’d have to be careful right from the start before it had a chance to get out of hand.”
Maisani moved to New York from Paris in 1995 and graduated from Hunter College as a valedictorian with a B. A. in Art History. He briefly worked at a museum, but found himself drawn to the easier hours of the nightlife and became a bartender at Barracuda, eventually opening his own bar, Eastern Bloc, in Manhattan in 2005.
He has since opened up two other bars – Bedlam in the East Village and Atlas Social Club (A.S.C.) in Hell’s Kitchen.
Gary Janetti (Fiancé of Brad Goreski)
Gary Janetti, who got engaged to fashion policeman Brad Goreski last August, has been dating the reality star for 13 years, but there’s much more to him than that. As a writer and producer, Janetti has worked as a writer and co-executive producer on Family Guy and the gay generation-defining hit Will & Grace. His current project is the British sitcom Vicious, which stars Sir Ian McKellen as one half of a spunky, elderly gay couple.
His life with Goreski was prominently featured on the reality show It’s a Brad, Brad World, which has only strengthened their bond. “The strange thing is, it made our relationship so much better because now we have this really weird, strange experience that we’ve been through together,” said Brad. “[He’s] very, very funny and also… so easy to live with… There are way more things that I love about him than things that drive me crazy.”
The couple currently lives together in Los Angeles with their dogs, Penelope and Alice.

Todd Spiewak (Boyfriend of Jim Parsons)

Art director/graphic designer Todd Spiewak has worked with a variety of companies, including American Express, Barnes & Noble, HP, KitchenAid and The New York Times. He has been dating The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons for 12 years, though they have no plans to get married. “I don’t know. You get so used to your life as it is,” said Parsons during an appearanceon Ellen. Although the couple’s marital status remains unchanged, they are very happy together, having recently co-founded the production company, That’s Wonderful Productions, LLC. They are currently developing a show based on YouTube’s Prodigies and living a blissfully boring life with their dogs. During his GLESN award acceptance speech, Parsons said, “I’ve never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism. Rather simply, it’s an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs [out]—a regular life, boring love.”
Tim Campbell (Boyfriend of Anthony Callea)
America may not yet have its gay “power couple” — an out couple where both members are equally prominent celebrities — but Australia certainly does. They’re former-Australian Idolstar Anthony Callea, 32, who is an enormously popular singer Down Under, and his boyfriend Tim Campbell, 39, an Australian soap opera star.

“There was stuff written in the paper a while ago,” Campbell told the Australian pressin February 2011, “and actually Anthony and I are a bit of an item at the moment. The question was asked a while ago and we weren’t, but we have gotten to a point where we are very happy together.”

The couple were married in New Zealand in November 2014.
Richard Cullen (Partner of Darren Hayes)
For years, Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes, 42, was coy about his sexuality, but that all changed in 2006 when he married Cullen in London and later announced the event on his website. Since then, Hayes has become an outspoken advocate for marriage rights in his native Australia because Cullen, a Brit, can only enter the country on a guest visa. “It makes me angry and frustrated,” Hayes told Australia’s Herald Sun. “I’m Australian and the way the law sits, I can’t bring my partner home as my partner.”
Darren Hayes (left) & Richard Cullen
Hayes claims that he and Cullen “spoil each other rotten” at birthdays and anniversaries. Meanwhile, the couple also work together on Hayes’ creative projects, with Cullen designing the singer’s solo CD covers and producing and animating his films. They currently live in America after applying for a California marriage license on July 15, 2013.
David Furnish (Husband of Elton John)

Some gay celebrity boyfriends chafe at being so closely identified with a famous person, butSome gay celebrity boyfriends chafe at being so closely identified with a famous person, butElton John’s partner has embraced the role, going so far as to direct a warts-and-all documentary, Tantrums and Tiaras (1997), about their life together. Given John’s reputation for extravagance and self-centeredness, Furnish, 45, probably had no other option. But he has since started to stake out a non-John-related name for himself, directing and producing other films and penning columns for Interview and GQ.

The couple now has two sons, both born through surrogacy. They were legally married in Windsor in December 2014 on the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership.

Frasier star David Hyde Pierce, 55, had been living with Hargrove, 58, for many years before he casually referred to him as his “partner” in a 2007 interview. A call from TheBacklot to Pierce’s publicist confirmed that, no, he didn’t mean “business partner.” Later that year, Pierce won the Tony for his role in the Broadway musical Curtains and thanked “my partner, Brian, because it’s 24 years of listening to your damn notes — that’s why I’m up here tonight.” There was probably truth to the sentiment. Hargrove is an accomplished television writer/director, having worked on Caroline in the City and Dave’s World and co-creating Titus.
Eduardo Amir (Partner of Paulo Szot)
Paolo Szot, the strapping, Tony-winning Brazilian impressed us with his stunning portrayal of Emile de Becque in the 2008 revival of South Pacific, but impressed us even more with his matter-of-fact confirmation that he is a gay man. At a cabaret gig, he even chose to serenade both a woman and a man in the audience! Amir, Szot’s partner, is a fellow Brazilian and, like Szot, an opera singer. In addition to opera, Amir does voice-over work, dubbing animated musicals for Brazilian release. With their busy singing schedules taking them from city and city, Szot and Amir may be Brazilian, but they’re currently also citizens of the world.

Vito Cammisano (Fiancé of Michael Sam)
After Michael Sam became the world’s first openly gay player to be drafted into the NFL, he lit up gossip columns around the world by kissing a mystery man in celebration. Eventually, the word got out that that man was Vito Cammisano, a swimmer from the University of Missouri and the grandson of notorious Kansas City mafia boss William “Willie Rat” Cammisano. Michael Sam kissing Vito after his draft announcement
Love isn’t always perfect, and the two got off to a rocky start. They met at a party in freshman year when Sam approached Cammiasno, who looked like he was about to commit. “I said, ’Hey, hey, are you OK? Can I get you anything?'” said Sam. “Vito slowly raised up and looked at me. I’ll never forget how those eyes looked at me. He’s like, ’Get the f away from me!’… I was about to beat up Vito that night!” The two didn’t speak for two years until Sam began getting close with the swim team. They began talking again and soon entered into a relationship. Although Vito was out of the closet, Michael wasn’t. The strain of keeping the secret (Vito had to sneak into Michael’s house through the window) caused them to break up for a while. “Somehow, we started texting again,” Cammisano recalls. “Mikey’s like… ’I’m not able to go anywhere for Christmas.’ I feel awful. I was like, ’Come home with me [for] Christmas.’ So Mikey came to Kansas City for Christmas and that’s when [we realized] we missed this. It really was Christmas that brought us back together.” They’ve been together ever since.

Although their beginning may have been tumultuous, they’ve been stronger than ever since they got back together. In fact, the couple just got engaged on January 7th during a trip to Europe for Sam’s 25th birthday.

Kyle XY star Matt Dallas publicly came out in January 2013 when he announced his engagement to musician Blue Hamilton on Twitter. Hamilton, 35, worked as an executive at Warner Music Group for almost ten years before he independently released his EP Radio Flyer in 2012. Though they’ve been engaged for some time, no wedding has been announced yet. “We talked about it a lot and we’ve been doing lots of planning, but there’s no official date set yet,” said Dallas. “We’re both like the most easy going [guys]. For us, it’s more about just having a celebration and throwing a party. Yeah, so no stressing out and getting crazy about wedding plans.” Hamilton showing off a magical outfit
Christopher Turner (Husband of Armistead Maupin)
In a plot right out of one of his Tales of the City books, author Armistead Maupin, 70, met his husband, Christopher Turner, 42, while walking down a San Francisco street, recognizing Turner from an inter-generational gay dating site he had founded (Maupin had been too shy to post his own pictures).
Armistead Maupin (left) & Christopher Turner
The two men’s 27-year age difference became the inspiration for Michael “Mouse” Tolliver’s relationship with a younger man in Maupin’s 2007 Tales novel, Michael Tolliver Lives.
“There are parts there that are based on us,” Turner told the San Francisco Chronicle of the book. “Michael Tolliver, in some ways, is like Armistead. But in many ways he’s not. Same goes for Ben, the younger man. Some of the dynamics are similar to our relationship, sure. But I don’t want to say which ones, for the record.”

Sixty-year-old Brad Altman isn’t just Star Trek star George Takei’s partner; he’s also his full-time business manager. The two have been a couple for twenty-seven years, but in 2008 they finally had a chance to make honest men of each other, getting married in California.
Altman is an outspoken advocate of same-sex marriage rights, going so far as to make his and Takei’s wedding public in hopes of swaying the hearts and minds of California, which faced a November vote on an initiative that would curtail same-sex marriage rights.
Altman was born in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended university in California, where he studied journalism. He tells us that his favorite hobby is attending the theater and as for being the husband of George, “I am the luckiest person in the world.”

Brunson Green (Boyfriend of Jason Collins)
Openly gay NBA player Jason Collins, 35, is generally private about his personal life, but he has revealed that he is dating The Help producer Brunson Green. The two met at a housewarming party in June 2013, but he was dating somebody else at the time.
“Fast forward to September, I’m single again, and I see him at a party in L.A.,” says Collins. “So we exchange information because he was leaving for Europe the next day. But while he was gone, I was asking everyone: Have you heard of this guy? The background check.” Evidently he passed, because the two have been dating ever since.
Green is currently the president of Harbinger Pictures and, according to their web site, involved in a “diverse slate” of production opportunities.
Harley Rodriguez (Boyfriend of Jonathan Knight)
New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan Knight, 46, has been dating fitness trainer Harley Rodriguez semi-publicly for seven years. But things are about to get a whole lot more public on February 25th, when the duo will appear as contestants on the new season of The Amazing Race.
Knight says that as a couple, they tend to be indecisive. “A typical night for us is like, ‘Where do you want to go to dinner, babe?’ And then we’ll spend an hour back and forth about where to go and then by the time we make a decision … we call up and they’re like we closed 10 minutes ago!”
But according to Rodriguez, who works at Barry’s Bootcamp in New York City, the race helped them overcome that obstacle. Says Rodriguez, “Yeah, because you’re making the decisions immediately. There’s no time to say, ‘Hey are we going to do it, or not? Who’s going to do it?’ You just do it. So that was one of the things we loved about it too. Right in the moment – choose it, do it, and just get on with it. So, it helped.”
Ryan Corvaia (Fiancé of Maulik Pancholy)
30 Rock actor Maulik Pancholy got married to caterer Ryan Corvaia, his boyfriend of nine years, in September 2014. The two met at a party on Fire Island and got together soon afterward, though Pancholy was still in the closet at the time.
Corvaia, who is the founder and owner of Dish Food NYC, spoke with Out about his new husband for their January 2015 Love Issue. “We definitely complement each other in a lot of ways,” he said. “I think I’m more New York City street-smart, and he’s more book-smart. He was a mathlete in high school — my complete opposite. Food has always been such a big part of my life, and he doesn’t cook. Before me, Maulik had never realized he could go to dinner and have a vegetarian tasting menu, and now he has a palate — I think I’m responsible for that.”
Even now, in the aftermath of their whirlwind wedding, Corvaia finds it difficult to believe just how far his relationship, and this country’s gay marriage policies, have come. “To be honest, the wedding is a blur, but we had a perfect day,” he recalls. “His dad is my dad now. For Indians to be able to say that — it was very special.”
Pancholy’s engagement announcement in January 2014
It only took 9 years but it's official! Just got engaged at the Taj Mahal to @Ryan_Corvaia! YEEEESSSS!
Andy Newman (Partner of Gregory Maguire)
The Maguire / Newman family
Maguire is the author of Wicked, the novel that was the inspiration for the Broadway musical phenomenon (and also the author of an even better book, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, a retelling of the Cinderella story from the point-of-view of the stepsisters). Maguire’s partner, with whom he has adopted three children, is painter Andy Newman. The two, married in Massachusetts in 2004, appeared on an Oprah episode in 2009 about “unconventional, unforgettable” dads to talk about their experience as gay dads, but they also told the story of how they met at an arts colony. “There was a painting of a person of great compassion circling and enfolding someone who needed help,” Gregory said. “I fell in love with Andy about two weeks after I fell in love with his painting.” Appropriately enough, that very painting now hangs in their very active house.
Brad Walsh (Fiancé of Christian Siriano)
Project Runway winner Christian Siriano met his boyfriend Brad, a celebrity photographer, in November of 2007. “He and I tell different versions of the story,” Brad wrote on his blog. “I say he groped me at a party, he says I stalked him on MySpace. Neither is the truth.”

So what is the truth? Before Siriano had become really famous, Brad met Christian to take some pictures of him. “He stupidly gave me, a stranger at the time, his home address and had me meet him there when his roommate Jasmine was away,” Brad writes. “He (also stupidly) let me take pictures of his in-progress Bryant Park collection and sketches of the final outfits tacked on the wall.” The first meeting led to an exchange of photos and emails, and eventually an invitation to be Brad’s “+1” at a party Brad was shooting for Playgirl Magazine. “I sort of wondered if it was a date,” Brad says, “but wasn’t sure how I felt about a first date being at a nighttime Playgirl party with penises all over the walls, so I decided in my head that it was not a date because that was very unromantic. But after two drinks went into his tiny body, however, we were clearly on a date.” By December, they were an item, and on July 28, 2013, the couple got engaged, using bracelets rather than traditional rings. They now live in a 1400 square foot loft in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Interior designer/TV personality Nate Berkus, 43, married Jeremiah Brent on May 3rd, 2014. Brent is the owner of Jeremiah Brent Design, an interior design firm located in Los Angeles and New York City. According to his bio, he has worked on “everything from home interiors to multi-million dollar nightclubs,” and after joint The Rachel Zoe Project in 2011, he gained a taste for TV which led him to begin to develop a new design show. The outgoing couple has no fear of the public eye, appearing together in a noteworthy ad for Banana Republic and becoming the first same-sex couple to appear in advertisements in InStyle and Rolling Stone magazines. On September 14, Berkus shared a Facebook post reading “Wanted to share some exciting news…. We have had the most special year and its JUST become even more beautiful. We are happy to announce that we are expecting our first child!” Not much more information has been revealed, but their child will likely be born through a surrogate this Spring.

Elliott Spencer (Husband of Stephen Fry)
English comedian and actor Stephen Fry, 57, married self-styled comedian Elliott Spencer, 27, in a quiet ceremony in Norfolk on January 17th. Their nuptials were overseen by a small Oscar Wilde doll, as every wedding should be.
Not much is known about Spencer beside the fact that he’s a big music fan (The Cure and Morrisey in particular), but he’s reportedly helped Stephen find happiness again, so one can only suppose that that’s a good thing.
